About our program

ÃÛѨÊÓÆµ's English Language and Culture Program (ELCP) is a unique opportunity. You can earn credit in all program courses toward a bachelor's degree here while working alongside American students, improving your language skills and making connections both inside and outside the classroom. Join us for one semester, one year, enter a pathway or degree-seeking program. We can’t wait to host you!

Listening and Speaking

  • Communicate in formal and informal conversations with confidence.
  • Improve listening and speaking in social and academic settings.
  • Study regularly with American conversation partners.

Reading and Writing

  • Develop reading and writing skills to succeed in classes.
  • Improve grammar and broaden discourse patterns.
  • Prepare essays, analyze literature or complete research papers with citations.
  • Study regularly with American peer writing assistants.

Culture and Community

  • Broaden your cultural understanding.
  • Engage with Americans in the classroom, at a home or while volunteering.
  • Take either course: Culture in the Community or Discovering American Cultures through Film.
  • Participate in field trips and excursions to cultural sites in Oregon.

  • Share your own unique cultural perspectives with Americans.
  • Meet with Americans for coursework and experiential activities.
  • Enjoy support and activities through the International Programs Office.
