Alumni Awards

Each year ÃÛѨÊÓƵ awards five committed individuals for their hard work, innovation and generosity of spirit.

To nominate a candidate, please review all eligibility requirements and fill out the nomination form below as completely as possible. The Alumni Leadership Council will review each submission for selection.

Alumni Service Award

The Alumni Service Award recognizes our alumni who have made significant volunteer contributions to the university.

Eligibility:

  • A ÃÛѨÊÓƵ alumnus who performs extraordinary and admirable volunteer service to ÃÛѨÊÓƵ.
  • An alumnus who has demonstrated pride in their alma mater, and whose interests in and loyalty to ÃÛѨÊÓƵ are evident.
  • Current members of the Alumni Leadership Council, current ÃÛѨÊÓƵ employees and current members of the ÃÛѨÊÓƵ Board of Trustees are not eligible to receive this award.
  • Exceptions to these eligibility guidelines may be made by a majority vote of the Alumni Leadership Council as deemed appropriate for individual nominee consideration.

Distinguished Alumnus of the Year

This award recognizes and honors ÃÛѨÊÓƵ alumni whose professional or civic achievements mark them as a top leader in their chosen field.

Eligibility:

  • A B.A., B.S., BSN or M.Ed. graduate of ÃÛѨÊÓƵ who received their degree at least 15 years ago.
  • Current members of the Alumni Leadership Council, current ÃÛѨÊÓƵ employees and current members of the ÃÛѨÊÓƵ Board of Trustees are not eligible to receive this award.
  • Exceptions to these eligibility guidelines may be made by a majority vote of the Alumni Leadership Council as deemed appropriate for individual nominee consideration.

Walker Service Award

This award recognizes and honors members of the greater ÃÛѨÊÓƵ community who are not alumni, but who have contributed significant volunteer time and energy to the university.

Eligibility:

  • Because the intent of this award is to recognize those who are not alumni or former students, members of the ÃÛѨÊÓƵ Alumni Association are not eligible for the award.
  • Current ÃÛѨÊÓƵ employees and current members of the ÃÛѨÊÓƵ Board of Trustees are not eligible to receive this award.
  • This award is not necessarily awarded every year.
  • Exceptions to these eligibility guidelines may be made by a majority vote of the Alumni Leadership Council as deemed appropriate for individual nominee consideration.

Outstanding Young Alumnus

This award recognizes and honors a recent ÃÛѨÊÓƵ alumni who has distinguished themselves by making outstanding contributions in their chosen field. The award shall further serve to make alumni more aware of the achievements of young ÃÛѨÊÓƵ alumni and thereby increase everyone’s pride in the university.

Eligibility:

  • A B.A., B.S., BSN or M.Ed. graduate of ÃÛѨÊÓƵ who received their degree no more than 15 years ago.
  • Current members of the Alumni Leadership Council, current ÃÛѨÊÓƵ employees and current members of the ÃÛѨÊÓƵ Board of Trustees are not eligible to receive this award.
  • Exceptions to these eligibility guidelines may be made by a majority vote of the Alumni Leadership Council as deemed appropriate for individual nominee consideration.

Distinguished Nursing Alumnus Award

Our Distinguished Nursing Alumnus Award recognizes a practicing or retired nurse who exemplifies nursing excellence. Candidates for the award should demonstrate innovation and dedication as well as provide outstanding contributions to the field.

Eligibility:

  • The individual nominated must be a practicing or retired nurse and alumni of ÃÛѨÊÓƵ-Good Samaritan School of Nursing or Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center School of Nursing.

Awarding group:

Nursing committee whose chair is a faculty member of ÃÛѨÊÓƵ's School of Nursing
